New Chance to Win Grand Prize VIP Trip to Kentucky Derby 139!
On Saturday morning, many Road to the Roses players experienced difficulties related to our website while attempting to register for this year's Kentucky Derby fantasy challenge prior to the start of scoring races.
Churchill Downs always puts our customers first and never wants even a single fan to feel like they were shut out of experiencing part of the Kentucky Derby because of a technical difficulty on our end. So we're duplicating the Grand Prize VIP trip for two to next year's Kentucky Derby & Oaks and giving everyone another chance to win!
March 10 will kick off another "Stage" of the contest. The stable which accumulates the most points in races beginning March 10 and ending with the Kentucky Derby will also be awarded the Grand Prize!
Players which were unable to register for the contest prior to the February 25 deadline at noon are encouraged to come back to RoadtotheRoses.com and sign up for a chance to win this new contest stage. New players will be allowed four stables to compete for the duplicated grand prize.
Players which have already registered accounts may also sign up additional stables to compete for the duplicated grand prize. All players will now be allowed to have up to four stables per account.
*Only stables chosen and verified after March 1, 2012, are eligible to win the duplicated grand prize.
** Note that the Gotham Stakes and John Battaglia Memorial Stakes, both held on March 3, will NOT be counted as scoring races for the new contest stage, which begins on March 10 with the Tampa Bay Derby, Swale Stakes & San Felipe Stakes.
Road To The Roses
The Road To The Roses is the official fantasy game of the Kentucky Derby. You can sign-up to create a stable of three-year-old Thoroughbreds nominated to the Triple Crown, as well as select jockeys and trainers - all for free! As your stable competes in the prep races leading up to the Kentucky Derby, you score points. Score the most after the first Saturday in May and you win!

Weekly prizes keep things interesting throughout the entire Kentucky Derby prep season by awarding players with the highest point total at the end of the specified "week."

What's New
Expanded Stables
Each stable will now draft an initial stable of fifteen horses nominated to the Triple Crown. This is up from the ten horse stables that started the game last year. This gives each player a better chance of having horses run in designated prep races and more opportunities to score points along the Kentucky Derby trail.
Less Power Horses
Players will be able to designate only three power horses each weekend for an opportunity to earn double points. With more horses in your stables, be sure to think long and hard about which horses you want to have the chance to earn double points. Remember, each horse in your stable is eligible to earn points in prep races. Power horses simply maximize point opportunities.
Returning Features
Expanded Supplemental Drafts
Not into the pressure of picking your supplemental draft horses in the window of just a few days? We’ve introduce a new element to the game by getting rid of supplemental draft deadlines. When the drafts start, you will have until the week before the Kentucky Derby to add those extra horses.
League Chat
A new tool to help you communicate with others in your league. Whether you want to side bet on the results or just talk a little smack, league members can now chat it up right from the dashboard of their own leagues.
Power Horses
Once again, ALL of the horses in your stable will remain active and eligible to earn points throughout the duration of the game. You will be able to designate three "POWER" horses which will earn double points if they finish first, second or third in any prep race listed on the official race schedule.

All players can create up to three free stables. That’s three ways to win.
